Block Clubs

At Neighborhood Housing Services of South Buffalo, our community is important to us and we feel special to be a part of it. Are you part of your community? Have you inquired about your local block club? Don’t have one? Read on for information on how to start one! Have one? Read on about some services we provide our local block clubs!

Block Clubs don’t have to be limited to just homeowners – if you live in a building or complex, consider forming or joining a Tenant Council. Neighbors Connecting have a great list of things to do to start a Block Club or Tenant Council listed here. They offer tips on how to begin, how to write bylaws, and even different topics that might affect your club or council. The City of Buffalo offers these tips as well.
As you may remember, we offered a program for Block Clubs and Community Centers during the month of May to win a $50 gift card and help people get signed up for our Weatherization Assistance Program. We also offer Block Clubs free printing services. You can print fliers for your upcoming meetings and events at our office. Stop by 1937 South Park with your material and paper, and come back for your copies later. These services are available to any South Buffalo block club. You must bring your own paper. We only do black and white copies. We do not cut, fold, or put in envelopes. We have on occasion been able to send a representative to Block Club meetings to speak about our services. If you would like to inquire about someone coming to a meeting or about getting information on our programs and services to give out at your meeting, please email outreach@nhssouthbuffalo.org or call (716) 823-3630 or stop by our 1937 South Park Avenue Office!
Don’t forget to check out our website, Facebook, and Twitter for all the latest in news and events for NHS!
