New Workshop Series Focuses on Seasonal Topics

Neighborhood Housing Services of South Buffalo is excited about the new learning opportunity they will be offering in 2013 – SEASONAL WORKSHOPS! The non-profit has always been dedicated to serving their community in any way they can, coming up with new avenues to address constituents’ areas of interest.

These workshops will be focusing on topics that are specific to the season, beginning with a Spring-centric workshop on April 20th, from 11 am to 3 pm at their 1937 South Park office. These workshops will feature guest speakers, demonstrations, and information on subjects particular to each season, as well as a brief introduction to other services offered by NHS.

The Spring workshop will feature a demonstration by Home Depot experts on window boxes for gardening and guest speaker Alyssa Bergsten from Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME), the fair housing advocate of Western New York, as April is National Fair Housing Month. Other topics to discuss will include spring cleaning and organizing.

Housing Coordinator Pamela Tait-Kwiatkowski says: “We are always exploring new ways of
educating clients as to what NHS of South Buffalo has to offer and we are excited to offer these
workshops that offer education in a fun, friendly way.”

The workshop and materials provided are free to all attendees. The seating is limited, so pre-registration is required for this workshop.
